Rajkiya Engineering College, Mirzapur, was established by the Uttar Pradesh Government in 2023, offering a 4-year B.Tech. program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, and Electrical Engineering, with 60 seats per branch. The courses are affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. In its first academic session (2023-24), the college will operate from the fully residential campus of its mentor institution, Rajkiya Engineering College, Sonbhadra. The 30-acre campus includes an administrative block, academic blocks, a workshop, separate boys’ and girls’ hostels with a cooperative mess, a student activity center, a canteen, a health center, an open gym, and round-the-clock electricity and water supply. Additional facilities include sports and recreation spaces, creating a well-equipped academic environment.

Professor K.S Verma is a distinguished academician and administrator in electrical engineering. He is a professor in the Electrical Engineering Department at KNIT Sultanpur and also serves as Director of Rajkiya Engineering College Mirzapur. Previously, he was Director at KNIT Sultanpur and REC Ambedkar Nagar and the Founder Principal of MKRECIT Ambedkar Nagar. He played a crucial role in establishing government engineering colleges at Kannauj and Sonebhadra in 2013-14. He holds a B.Tech and M.Tech from KNIT Sultanpur and a Ph.D. in Power Systems from IIT Roorkee. He has delivered expert lectures at IIT Kanpur, KNIT, HAL, and other institutions. His research focuses on Power Systems, FACTS, Distributed Generation, and Power System Modeling. With numerous publications in international journals, he has also guided many M.Tech and Ph.D. theses. With over 25 years of contributions to technical education and research, he is a member of the BOG at MNNIT Allahabad and the Executive Committee of the Indian Institute of Carpet Technology. In 2002, he visited the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok.
